I strive not to be just another vendor for your wedding. I really want to know you guys, seeing you interact with each other, and really understand what makes you laugh, and be yourself. I don’t shoot models. I photograph real people, with real relationships, which capture the most genuine expressions of love and life. This is the reason why I enjoy wedding photography. My goal is to let your day happen naturally and to photograph these expressions of love as spontaneously as possible. It would be an honor to photograph your wedding. Creating beautiful photos for you makes me smile, and I hope that my photos make you smile too.
In my experience, there’s no better preparation for your wedding day better than working with your photographer at an engagement session. Most important, an engagement session is an expression of your personality. Choose a location that tells something about the two of you. First dates, proposals, favorite hang outs, all of these can make great spots for the engagement shoot. Advice: Ladies, please don’t wear heels. An engagement shoot is not a runway show, and you’ll be more comfortable in flats with all the walking we’ll do. Wear outfits that are comfortable, and that complement each other’s. Bring props if you want, and don’t be afraid to skip down the street. Doing silly things show great in photos.
THE WEDDING DAY
Don’t forget to bring your wedding invitation! It’s part of the wedding, and I’d love to photograph it. While some poses looking straight at the camera can be daring… the best shots are spontaneous. If you hired me to do getting ready photos too, make sure you keep your suite tidy. There’s only so much that can be cropped out in photoshop. In order to do my absolute best performance in your wedding, it would be in both our interests if I’m fed at your wedding (if I’m hired more than 4 hours). It doesn’t have to be a fancy 4 course dinner, a vendor meal is fine.
AFTER THE WEDDING
It takes about 2 weeks after the wedding for you to have the retouched photos in your hands; however, I too go on vacation once in a while, so I put 2 months in the contract. Definitely expect them before two months. I usually post my favorite shots from your wedding on my blog within a couple of days after the wedding. When you receive your CD of edited photos, copy them to your computer, make copies, posters, albums, and save them! All the images you receive are edited for color correction, minor blemish removal, etc. They won’t have watermarks. If you bought an album from me, be patient. It can take a couple of weeks to design and put it together. If you use the edited photos online (like facebook, instagram, etc), please credit Zareth Acosta under each photo.
Referrals are my main source of work, so when you receive all your final products from me, I’d really love a review. You can either email it to me, or you can go to yelp.com, weddingchannel.com, weddingwire.com, onewed, and mineeds.com.
I prefer to meet with you before you book me (if possible). We can get coffee (or ice cream!), and see if we are a good fit to work together. We are all busy people, but I feel meeting in person is the best way to start a relationship. I live in Damascus, but I can meet you half way where you live/work.
I use professional Nikon gear; I’m a Nikon junkie! I’m fully insured, and bring my backup to all weddings just in case.
